WEEK 64: September 2, 2019 "Pray for Deise!"

So this week was insane!!!

First off, let us acknowledge the fact that THE PROPHET VISITED BRASIL!!! Guys, Russell M Nelson was here!! It was an amazing and super spiritual experience. I am so grateful that we have a living prophet to guide us and help us on this path.

So this week we spent most of our time working with Deise and Nicolas. It is a mom and son that love our visits. Deise was dating Paulo and that stopped her from being baptized beforehand. But Paulo advised us a few weeks ago that he would move back to São Paulo and Deise would be single again. So like a vulture on a dead carcass, we RAN to Deise. She went to church that week and agreed to be baptized this week!!! BUTTTTT. On SATURDAY! She told us that she loved the baptist church and doesn’t think she wants to be baptized in our church. So we had a super spiritual lesson with her about temples and eternal progression and she agreed to fast with us until after church the next day so that she could really get her answer. EVERYONE PRAY LOTS BECAUSE WE WILL SEE HER ANSWER TOMORROW! But that is where we spent most of our time this week.

We also starting teaching Lara. She is super special. She is 16 and has been searching for a church. Actually she is a friend of Deise. She has passed through some difficult times these last few weeks and so she really felt the power of our lesson. When we invited her to read the Book of Mormon she just felt so grateful. When we followed up with her, she said she never felt anything like she had felt when she read and prayed about the Book of Mormon. She knows that this is the path that will bless her life for the better.

We are also working with a few FAMILIES!!! The first is the family of Katia, Jonotas, Derek, Maria Eduarda and Hudson. They are super special. Katia says that we are her favorite people in the world and she wishes we could spend every minute in their house. We are planning the wedding of Katia and Jonotas right now and they are going to be baptized soon after! Unfortunately for everyone, I don’t think I will be in the area.... But they are ALWAYS at church and just are so loving and so excited for the day that they will be able to be baptized!!

The other is the family of a recent convert. Claudiner and Francielle and Cauê. Cauê is the recent convert and Francielle is a member. But Claudiner never showed any kind of interest in the church. But one day I felt really strongly like we should invite him to church so we went and invited him, and he went!! The next week we invited him to be baptized and HE ACCEPTED!! I have never seen such happiness like the happiness of Cauê and Francielle. I had already conversed with Francielle and the only thing she wanted was to have a family sealed in the temple and now that Claudiner is progressing toward baptism, she is going to have that and she says that she will never forget how me and Sister Mahoney are making exaltation possible for her and her family. So that is amazing.

Anyways! I am so happy here!! Thanks for the love and support always!!!

I want to challenge all of you to read the first talk that President Nelson gave as a prophet, "Revelation for the church, revelation for our lives." Really, the most important thing that we could do is learn how to receive our own personal revelation.
