Look English. Are you guys proud of me?
SOME RECENT CONVERTS!!!! They are adorable. Super excited and love our visits. |
This week was awesome!! We are really seeing that God is trusting a ton in us with his children. We are starting to call ourselves, "The completers of families!" because almost all of our baptisms here have been families that not everyone was a member and we got to baptize and reactive these families.
Well we got another one!! LUCAS!! So his family wasn't inactive. They were SUPER active. Like, his dad is our ward mission leader. SUPER ACTIVE. But he never had really a lot of interest in learning or investigating the church. I had already tried to invite him to participate in lessons and messages; but he never was really excited to try and participate. But last month there was a tragic situation in his family. His sister (a member) had her appendix burst. And it got really infected because the doctors were slow to find out about it. So the doctors told the family that Helena(the daughter) would pass away. So the ward got together and we all fasted and prayed for her. BY A MIRACLE! and after a month, Helena was cured and returned home healthy and happy. Lucas, saw this miracle with his Sister and was talking to the president of the elders quorum and mentioned that he would like to learn a little bit more about the church. So they called... THE SISTERS!!!
We went there and he immediately accepted to be baptized, go to church, pray about the Book of Mormon and was super excited. AND HE ACTUALLY WENT TO CHURCH!!! And now he is just being super open to our messages and I think he is going to progress really quickly!! We are super excited! As is his mom. I think my favorite moment was when he accepted to receive the messages, his mom looked at us with a look of just pure joy. She was almost crying and his dad told him that the best moment of his life was hearing that his son wanted to receive the missionaries. So this was a huge miracle of our week.
I am just so happy because I have been in this area so much time, but that gives me a huge chance to see the progress of my recent converts here. Edgar, Maria Clara and Maria Eduarda are doing wonderfully. I have seen Edgar receive the priesthood and Maria Clara started to do her family history and I just am so excited for all of them. I am so blessed to be able to be on the mission and to see how this gospel really does change lives.
I love you all a ton and this week I want to challenge you guys to read Alma 5. I don't know if I already challenged you, but go read it again if so. I love this chapter because sometimes I think, "Wow. It would be great if I could just have an interview with God." But Alma 5 really is that interview. It is a great chapter and I love it just like I love you guys and your families.
COM MUITO AMOR
