WEEK 58: July 22, 2019 “MAIS UM” ("another")

OIIII!!!!

this week we didn't do really a ton of stuff. It was kinda a normal week. and also i didn't have time to really write anything beforehand so i have to like try and think on the spot so like no promises.

if you wanna know how my area is... its like this

So I think the biggest miracle of the week was with Maria Clara. She is also a daughter of a less active. But the less active has like 0 desire to come back to church. BUT. Her daughter went to church last week. She has a boyfriend of 4 years and really likes to break the word of wisdom. But this week we had a super spiritual lesson about the commandments and we challenged her to live the Law of Chastity and Word of Wisdom for one week. I have a huge testimony of the Law of Chastity and I got to really share that with her and she ended up crying and I was crying and who knew that the Law of Chastity could be so powerful. She agreed to live it this week and said that even though it will be hard she will give up coffee and alcohol this week too. And she went to church again and seemed SUPER happy!!!! So that was a great miracle and I am super excited about that.

We also has a huge miracle that I LOVED!!! So this week in the "Come Follow Me" talks about not making exceptions of people. That God loves all of his children equally and will always bless them and wants them all to find the gospel. So the other day we were walking in the street and we felt like we should talk to a drunk man that was in a horse cart like obviously completely just run down. Like slums of the slums. We like talked to each other and wanted to like be careful but we decided to talk to him. We invited him to church on Sunday and then we didn't think much more about it. On sunday a man showed up with like pretty nice clothes, completely happy and just ready to participate and it took me about half an hour to realize that it was the same man! He had changed 100% and was ready to learn about Christ. I was super happy.

Anyways! That's about all I got this week!!

This week I wanna challenge all of you PRINT OFF A PICTURE OF YOUR FAMILY!!! I know this challenge is really weird but sometimes when all our pictures are on our phones it is super easy to forget the value of the people in our lives. I have loved not having a cell phone(even if i miss the gospel library app). But I love just seeing a picture of my family and thinking of how much I really do love them!

Highlights from our conversation:

In Zone conference, the mission president announced to half the mission that he had planned to transferred Becca to a new area, but the stake president personally called him and asked him to please keep her in the area! She was mystified and a little embarrassed to have the missionaries focusing on her and later asking her what she was doing in her area to get that kind of attention. She expressed worry that she won’t be able to hold up to that kind of scrutiny. I imagine that the ward and group in her area love her enthusiasm and hard work as well as all her activities that she plans and pulls off in the area. She also plays the piano every week at church. She wishes that she knew the formula for finding and teaching someone whose heart is ready to accept the gospel. Thus far, that has eluded her in Capão do Leão. There are definitely things the Lord wants her to learn.
