WEEK 32 (7 Months 2 weeks): January 21, 2019 “goodge nighat sister hammondge”
ARNALDOS BAPTISM!!!!!! |
TUDO BEM MEUS FILHOS??!!!
This week we had a MIRACLE!!!! ARNALDO WAS BAPTIZED!!!! WHOOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!! It was crazy miraculous!!! And it was rough because he has a problem in his leg and our baptismal font is like literally an above ground pool. So everyone had to help lift him into the font. And he was just smiling the whole time. He was so excited. And I decorated that baptism like it was my child. Balloons and a giant sign and everything!!! So that was awesome.
The funniest part of the week was yesterday. I had our weekly, "call your district leader and tell him about your week." And I had it in ENGLISH with him. IT WAS HILARIOUS!!! He speaks English a tiny bit so it was a lot of, "hello sister. i to need some resultados in this paper." It lasted forever. But it was hilarious!!! And at the end he said, "Sister. You know something good?" Me: "What is it elder?" Him: "I to have five more pday in the mission" Me: "Wow elder. Even in English you’re trunky." HAHAHA It was super funny.
Otherwise nothing notable happened. We are having problems with the laziness of the people. Nobody wants to go to church. But it will all work out great in the end. I have a ton of faith, trust and pixie dust.
This week I want to challenge you all to read D&C 121. This chapter gave me a ton of comfort when I was feeling super alone and frustrated. Try and relate to how Joseph would have been feeling in this moment.
I love you all tons!! Thank you for the love and support constant!!!
Com MUITO MUITO MUITO AMOR,

When your lunch falls through...(The members who were supposed to feed the missionaries, didn't.) |
My dear English class!!!! |
Our LMA (District Mission Leader) that is going to go on a mission in MARCH!!! His name is Felipe! |
What was the best part of your week?
ARNALDO WAS BAPTIZED!!!! He is an older man and because of something he did 20 years ago, he had to go through the process of repentance with the prophet. He was super excited to be baptized!! He also stopped smoking so that he could be baptized!!! He is amazing and a huge example for me. He lives with his mom. But his mom is super old and a little insane. She just shouts how she was born catholic and will die catholic too. Very dramatic. But he has a sister that lives in Viamão that is a member of the church!!
What was the worst?
I don’t really have a worst. This week was pretty good! Although we are having a TON of rain. Which brings all the bugs into our house. I hate finding cockroaches everywhere it is disgusting.
I'M SINGING IN THE RAIN |
I have been dancing in the rain like a mad woman. And Sister Rodrigues has started dancing with me. It is super fun and relieves a ton of the stress.
How’s your district?
GIANT!!! And not very united which [stinks] (Mom: I don’t like “sucks”). But I am working to resolve that. I am trying to help the district have that union that we had in Rio Grande.
My giant district of SISTERS!!! |
Lots of people. We are teaching about 25 people. We have Lucas and Leonardo who are probably the top progressing people. They are brothers with 20 and 17 years. Lucas plays soccer professionally so it is hard to find him in house. But he already went to church. Leonardo is a little anti-social but he speaks English really well!!
What do most of the people do for work in Butia?
Work in rando (random) grocery stores that they have there. There really isn’t a lot of job availability so there are also a lot of people who travel to Porto Alegre to work.
