WEEK 24: November 26, 2018

SISTER MENDOZA WAS TRANSFERRED!!!!! IT IS SO SAD!!!!

Open Gangnam style....(editor: I have no idea why this was her email title. Any ideas??)

So awkward moment when I made a list of everything I wanted to say in my last planner but we had transfers so I have a new planner and forgot my old one so you will have one more week of a very weak letter but I will try and remember....

So this week flew by. We had a ton of meetings and on Tuesday we had a service project! We cleaned paintings by licking q-tips and carefully removing the dirt with our own saliva. It was disgusting. I don't know why the sister wanted us to do that. But we did... for 8 hours. Which happened to be our entire day almost haha.
We cleaned 3 paintings with Qtips and our saliva.

On Friday, we had a big activity with the relief society! We made wreaths to decorate the chapel!!! It was amazing because KELLY CAME WITH HER SON!!!!! And her son was super excited to tell me that he read the Book of Mormon!!!! He ran up to me with the brightest sunlight in his eyes!!! He is adorable.

This week we also had transfers!!! Sister Mendoza was transferred which was super sad. But I am staying in Cassino with Sister Ressurreição for at least one more transfer!!! Which is good because Cassino is amazing!!!

OH WE ALSO HAD A BAPTISM IN THE WARD ON SATURDAY!!! It was two young women that the other Sisters taught. The baptism was so spiritual. They both cried and so did their mom and dad who are only waiting to get married in order to be baptized too! It was so so so spiritual. We sang "come unto Christ" as missionaries which was super spiritual. I loved every second!!!

This week I want to challenge you guys to sing a hymn for someone. A christmas hymn obviously. But pick a hymn and sing it for a family member or friend who needs a little "pick me up."

I love you all and keep me updated on your lives!!!

Com amor,
Sister Hammond
Funeral of Elder Honório. He went home for his house already!!!

A present from a recent convert!
Questions from Mom:

What were your worst and best events of the week?

The worst was yesterday morning. We woke up super early, like 5:45 to go to Cassino to find the people we wanted to bring to church. So we caught the bus at like 7ish and the bus was pulling away when a car slammed into the back of the bus on the highway. Everyone fell over and the man in the car was so close to getting beheaded but ended up walking away only a little bit hurt. Then we got another bus but when we arrived none of our investigators were ready for church and they didn't even answer the door. So we went to church and it was all for naught. Which was so frustrating.

The best was on Friday! We had a Christmas activity for the relief society making wreaths! We invited one of investigators and SHE CAME!!! WITH HER SON!!! Everyone was super excited to see her and the whole ward was super welcoming. She loved the activity and her wreath is hanging on the door of the sacrament hall. But she (and her son) loved the church. She always talks about how much she loves the church and feels differently there.

What things that you do most affect your testimony?

Bearing testimony. In every opportunity. I am always bearing testimony to people. Members, non-members, less actives. Even just making contacts I try and include a little testimony so that they can feel the spirit. That has helped my testimony grow a ton!
